Burgenland is Austria’s easternmost province and is nestled between the last foothills of the Alps in the west and the Pannonian Plain in the east. With around 300 days of sunshine a year, you can enjoy the longest outdoor season here and pedal along 3,300 kilometres of well-developed cycle paths. Seven top cycle routes and numerous themed trails offer cycling fun for all abilities.
Compared to the rest of Austria, Burgenland seems almost exotic. You will look in vain for angular mountain ranges here, but you will be rewarded with sheer endless views, unique landscapes and unspoilt nature. In six nature parks and the cross-border Neusiedler See – Seewinkel National Park, a rich flora and fauna can be easily experienced by bike.
And for all those who like to enjoy themselves: there is plenty to experience along the cycle paths. It’s worth getting off the saddle at an imposing castle and experiencing culture up close. Or you can enjoy a stop at a traditional wine tavern – regional wines and the finest cuisine included.
